It's nearly the end of his fifth year, and Severus has just experienced the most embarrassing and lamentable moment in his life. At a time where the wizarding world is becoming unhinged, he must deal with a few unexpected events that will change his life forever.

The O.W.L.s are over and it's time for the Hogwarts students to go home for the summer. Though it may be the conclusion of his fifth year, Severus finds that it is only the beginning of something much bigger.

Severus and his fellow Slytherins are about to make some introductions that will have a profound effect on the rest of their lives.

School has started and Severus is slowly getting back into the swing of things. His potions class brings about a few unexpected events that encourage him to start looking at some of his classmates in a different light.

Days at Hogwarts are rarely boring, and Severus's housemates are often responsible for the majority of the action. Brewing Veritaserum for Professor Slughorn would have been a nice distraction, had Severus not been paired up with Evans. Still, he finds her company tolerable, for a Gryffindor, and learns a little about himself in the process.

Severus meets someone near the greenhouses, and Bertha Jorkins just happens to stick her nose into the entire affair.   Pretty soon the school will be rife with new rumors, and Severus is less than thrilled about it, of course.
