Veronica's parents gave her to her aunt and uncle when she was little. She's a fifth year, and had her only little circle of friends, Jake, Blaze, Katie, and Jake's girlfriend Sam. Everything seemed to be fine, until this year that is. Her circle seems to be ripping at the seams, Draco Malfoy is suddenly one of the nicest guys at school, and Fred Weasley has grown smitten on her. (thanks to fairy queen for the awesome banner!)

"What are you talking about?" he demanded, looking startled.

"I just think you've changed since you and Sam started dating, that's all."

“Veronica, don’t bring Sam in to this,” Jake commanded. I sighed, this conversation was going nowhere.

What do you do when your close friend suddenly starts acting like someone you've never met before? and you don't know how to get through to them? Jake is that person, what has he gotten himself into?

Another chapter I edited in an attempt to make it more in depth. It's the beginning of Christmas break!

“okay, there is something going on here, that I don’t know about, and you know how I get when I’m excluded, so fess up you guys,” he planted his hands on his hips.

I had to make things right with Fred. I couldn't avoid this problem forever. Because that would be like avoiding a cancerous tumor on your leg that just kept growing. It had to be dealt with, and dealt with int he right manner. Otherwise, something would probably go wrong and get worse.

“Just trust me,” he said extending his hand for me to take. I looked at it for a second, but grasped onto it firmly and lowered myself down with him.

“I have to go to the bathroom,” I said getting up and leaving the table. No one said anything, no one even acknowledged that I had left. What was going on? Why was my boyfriend, suddenly ignoring me for my best friend? I stared in the mirror and thought about all of this for a second. Maybe they were just trying to get to know her. But they weren’t doing a very good job of including anyone else in this getting to know process.

“No, honey, you look fine. It’s a whole new look,” she said searching my eyes. “A whole new you.” I gave her a small smile, and she grasped onto my hand. “Let’s get you some clothes that fit.” She then walked over to her wardrobe and picked out some robes that were a size or three to small.

When I woke up, all the lights were off and I had a sick taste in my mouth. And not the taste you get when you wake up. It tasted like I had been puking the entire time I was asleep, even though I know I hadn’t been. I looked over at my bed side table and turned my light on. There were a couple cards on the table and as I picked one up to look at it, I realized Seamus was asleep towards the foot of the bed.

After lunch we had Transfiguration, but this was the first class I was walking to alone. Which was probably a mistake because halfway there, I noticed Fred heading my way. I kept my eyes to the ground and tried to remember how to get there in one piece. And without having an encounter with him.

Ginny and I began dancing and no one seemed to notice we didn’t belong in this house. I was beginning to get kind of hot when Kevin reappeared with drinks for us. I grabbed it and quickly downed it before letting him put his hands on me and continuing to dance.

And after detention, I was fully ready to just bound out of there, and was well on my way, when I felt a hand grab onto me. My first guess was that it was Fred, so I turned around reluctantly. But to my surprise, I found Katie staring at me with a sullen expression.

“Veronica, I haven’t been able to get over you and you broke up with me almost four months ago.” He paused for a second and I didn’t say anything to he continued. “Kiss me,” he said finally, allowing me to just stare at him in response.

I got in the shower and tried to debate what I was doing with my life. Part of me knew I had to break up with Seamus because I cheated on him, but part of me was still clinging to him with all my might. I knew he loved me, and he treated me amazing, yet I had lost my virginity to someone else.

At my house, things with Seamus and I had been fine, but over here I was getting annoyed. It’s like he changes once he’s in his own environment. I couldn’t wait to get home.
