“Lily,” whispered Pamela “Lily, get up!” I looked at her as she tugged the sleeve of my arm. I looked around and saw people looking at me, oh no! I’d missed my cue.

 “Merlin Lily, you’re going to break James’ heart.” Pamela said, but with a small smile.  “I warned him, he brought it on himself,” Jessica and Pamela giggled and I joined in.

Merlin, what was that? Never and I mean never have I got so embarrassed around James. I took in a deep breath, I do not have a crush on James

 “Oh good Miss Evans, your awake” said Madam Pomfrey walking towards me “how’s your arm?” she asked looking down at my arm, I wince 
               "Painful” I replied
              “Hmm, it will be for a while unfortunately my dear.” She said examining it.

 I walked out of the common room, making my way over to the hospital wing, James had just asked me out again and I know this is like the 30th time this year or something stupid, but this time I actually considered it for a moment.

I gave a tiny smile. He smiled slightly back as if he was relieved that I didn’t shout at him. I stared at him, I wish he would just kiss me again, WAIT, no I don’t, I don’t, I don’t, I don’t!!

“Look James if you have come in here to ask me what I think ‘we’ are again then you are wasting your breath because I don’t know, okay. What happened was – I don’t know what it was but what I do know is that it’s confused the hell out of me and I don’t know what I think anymore.”

 “So” started James “are you going to come to the ball, what if I promise to look after you?” he smirked at me
            “That’s exactly why I can’t go” I blurted out,

 “Have fun James,” I said turning and closing the door, I heard him walk over to his bathroom and then after a minute he walked out. I sat on the edge of my bed, my dress catching my eye. I looked over at it. It really was beautiful,

I thought for a minute, then reached to the back if my head and slid out my small hairgrip. It was black with a small emerald teardrop on it.

“Here” I handed it to him “Something for you to remember this night with” he took it from my hands and brushed it lightly with his thumb. I kissed him lightly on the lips, “I will never forget this night,”
