Draco Malfoy does research on Harry's family and discovers the residence of his relatives the Dursleys; in the process he meets Dudley and they agree to go after Ginny in order to get revenge on Harry.

After two days in the hospital, Ginny returns home--and Harry goes with her.

Harry takes Ginny to be examined by the Muggle doctor his relatives usually go to and discusses the situation privately with him afterward.

Harry and Ginny have a study date near the Burrow, just far enough away for privacy, and take a picnic lunch. After studying and eating, things heat up considerably between them --and it escalates from there. (Harry is just days away from his seventeenth birthday and Ginny two weeks away from her sixteenth.)

Harry gets the Healers' reports concerning Ginny the following morning and studies them while she sleeps, suggesting that the proper authorities discreetly investigate Draco and Dudley's likely criminal backgrounds. Later on that day, he tells his friends what he learned from the aforementioned reports, and in the midst of same is interrogated by them as to the exact depth of his relationship with Ginny.

After giving Ginny a Calming Draught, Harry sits down with Ron and Hermione to tell her just what happened to her the day of her assault, needing their help to get the whole story out. Once that's done, he asks them to leave so that he and Ginny may speak privately. In the midst of this, Harry ends up proposing to her.

What happens on Harry's 17th birthday.

Draco is arrested for Ginny's assault; meanwhile, Harry gives an interview on the subject to Kingsley Shacklebolt, who works for the Daily Prophet when he's not working as an Auror.
