My heart stopped, then pumped faster than ever, I could feel my eyes rounding, words caught in my throat. “Surry!” She said shyly, dipping her head into her chest.

Still, my mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water. The problem was, words weren’t coming out! Someone slammed me on the back; I jumped back to my senses. “No, I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking!”

“Does Sirius study a lot like you do, or say you do?”

I looked at her, confused. Was she saying that she didn’t believe me? “What?” I asked.

“Not to say that I don’t believe you study. It’s just… you’re so, er, handsome. It’s very unusual to see someone as dashing as you studying.”

At this point I was steaming. If someone were to pour cold water over me I’d generate enough steam to turn the whole library into a sauna. My face burned red. I slid the book higher.
