'Running with your eyes shut the new trend this summer, is it?' he asked cheerfully, glasses slightly askew, as he pulled her up into a standing position. 'And here I was thinking it was walking backwards.'
 

'Oh my gosh! The Hamilton girl's with us!!' cried Alice Thompson, shrieking and clapping along with the rest of the Gryffindor table.

Lily grimaced. 'Yes, how wonderful. Another poor seal for the Marauder sharks to tear apart.'

Alice wrinkled her nose at her friend distastefully. "Seal? Give the girl some credit and call her a graceful antelope or something."

Lily exhaled sharply through her nose. 'You arrogant prat, I knew exactly what you were going to say. Just... stop with the brown-nosing, stop trying to get me to go out with you, and next time, let me at least get to the first bloody class of the term before you start pestering me, won’t you?'

'...hex him, of course,' finished Alice with a smirk.

'Very thoroughly.'

'Where it hurts.'

'As well as anyone who tries to help him.'

'Yeah. Unless it's Frank Longbottom.'

'Wish we could somehow keep track of everyone's whereabouts,' Remus said thoughtfully, picking up the train of conversation again. By his tone when he said 'everyone', he obviously meant himself. 'Like... a bell on a collar. Or something.'

James screwed up his face in thought. 'Bit primitive...besides, once it gets on, if we can even get it on, it'll be off again in no time.'

'Loudspeakers!'

'... or not!' replied Sirius cheerfully, after a moment's pause where everyone stared at Peter confusedly.

Finally, just as Celina's muscles began to protest from staying frozen for so long, Mrs. Norris backed away and led her master further into the recesses of the dark castle. The two errant students breathed a sigh of relief.

And then promptly froze once more.

Finally his search appeared to be ended.
"Now for target practice." he whispered to himself, still struggling to remain quiet and resisting the urge to yodel with glee at the top of his lungs.

The sandy-haired boy blinked and stopped talking mid-rant. “What’s that?”

“You don’t have to apologize,” Celina explained, trying to ease the blush out of her face. “It’s not like I’ve never seen a bloke naked before or anything. I’m sure I’ll live through this.”
