Prey Scorpius smirked, clearly enjoying Rose’s less-than-pleasant manner. ‘Isn’t it obvious, Rose?’ He leaned a little closer, so close that his expensive cologne filled her nostrils and made her momentarily dizzy. She instinctively took a step back, folding her arms protectively across her chest, her eyes alert and threatening. She swallowed, attempting to form coherent thoughts in her mind once again. ‘How many times must I tell you that I am not interested?’ She said, though her voice sounded less menacing than she would have liked. |

Essence Rose shut her eyes tightly when she heard Scorpius call her name. She wished she was imagining it all, that she would open her eyes and find she was alone. She had been lucky enough today to avoid him, but obviously the Slytherin was far too perceptive for her. She took a deep breath to calm herself, pushing back down the fiery part of her that always resurfaced whenever Scorpius was in her presence, and turned toward the source of his voice. Opening her eyes, she saw that he was much closer than she had anticipated, barely a metre from where she stood quite close to the lake. |

Indecision She was so caught up in her own little world that she did not notice the quiet snapping of the door as another figure entered her moment of peace. He watched her in the shadows, his face set into stone, his arms folded across his chest, his body rigid. His blue eyes were illuminated by the soft glow of the moon, and all that could be seen in his half-concealed expression was indecision. Rose hummed her favourite tune again, running a hand through her soft, dark hair. Scorpius stepped out of the shadows, his face rid of all emotion. |

Dysfunction Her first reaction was disgust. Disgust that this vile creature would even dare lay a hand on her. And then anger. The fury pulsed through her veins, tightening her muscles; it seemed to be the soul source of her beating heart. But it was all clouded by hatred. This was a stronger emotion. It required more passion than disgust or anger, and provided her with an insight of just how much her subconscious mind had been working for her when she had shut herself down during the kiss. It burned inside of her like hot coal. |

Revenge Startled, Rose whipped around and took in his tall figure. Her eyes fell upon the book, and she nodded. It was the book she needed. |
