Hermione paused outside the compartment as Ron continued down the train, listening to the voice inside, somewhat surprised to be hearing Shakespeare from anyone on the Hogwarts Express. 

Lacey seemed oblivious to the attention.  In fact, though, she was not, merely pretending not to notice that all eyes were on her.  She felt very proud of herself and hid her small smirk well. 

“Just wait until Potions,” muttered Hermione to herself, copying down her History of Magic notes. 

“Not funny,” muttered Lacey. “They won’t give me a detention if they can’t find your body.”

“Mother really should have considered the anger management classes,” Camille mumbled.
