Harry is starting on his first night at Hogwarts. He sees a face in a window, which puzzles him because everyone is supposed to be in the feast.

Emmaline starts to explain to the elements exactly who they are and why they are the elements.

The group creates a girl out of the elements, and Emmaline becomes almost impossibly distant.

Emmaline tells Ginny and Luna that they are now members of the Elements. She also reveals a bit more about what they do.

“What do you mean, what do I see? Look into my soul? What is this, church?” Hermione ground out.

“Look. Look deeper than ever before,” Emmaline said quietly. Hermione closed her eyes tight, thinking, looking.

What Emmaline had not told Harry was that she was also going to watch over him and keep him safe while he was in the Chamber. “Harry! You are the luckiest person in the world, and I can’t believe that you’re alright!”

“I suppose that our relationship is sort of student/teacher and friend/friend and other relations.”

“What relations?”

“Well… I guess that he is like my uncle.”

“No we mustn’t!” “But we have to!” “If we do, who knows what could happen?” “I still think it’s a good idea.” “Of course you do! You’re so stubborn!” “I am not!” “Are.” “Aren’t.” “Are.” “Aren’t!” “Stop it both of you. This isn’t going to get anything accomplished.”

Walking down the stairs, she spotted Neville and called him over. “Tonight, Neville, we will have a longer practice than usual. I’ve made up my mind. We need to make contact with the elemental creatures, and soon. Lord Voldemort is stirring, and you can bet that the creatures he calls will be dangerous beyond the extreme.”

“Your father… I thought that you didn’t know him?”

“I don’t really, but I’ve met him here a few times. He’s so wonderful!”

“What about your mother?”

“That’s cool. Anything interesting going on later today?”

“Not a thing.”

“Should we maybe prank someone we don’t like?”

Dear Harry,
Things here are quite a bit stranger than they were a few summers ago. I feel the gaping hole that all of you fill up quite a bit more than usual. I can’t help but think that this summer will be one that is most dangerous. Keep stock of yourself and make sure that no matter what happens, you always ALWAYS remember who you are and where you come from.

“Wouldn’t have pegged you for a Bulgarian fan, Em,” Ron remarked, but the girl ignored him, dancing excitedly on her feet.

“It’s him! Oh it’s been ages since I’ve seen him!”

“Who was singing?”

“I think it was Em, actually, but I’m not sure how she managed to get into my dream.”

“Miss Lovegood, you yourself should be eating, you’ve been here almost as much as he has!”

“You’re right Neville, I’m just being silly. Come on; let’s try to get good seats so we can see a little of what is happening.” She appeared much cheered, and so she tugged her friends down the path to the stands, where she slid onto the row of seats from which she could see the field and the hedges perfectly.

“You know Sev, it’s going to really hard keeping Ceri a secret. I need a godmother and godfather for her, and it can’t be you. It has to be someone else.”

 “Professor Umbridge is so evil,” Emmaline stormed, stomping into the common room rather angrily.

“What did she do this time?” Harry asked, looking up from his Potions essay.

Harry didn’t reply for a minute, before sighing heavily. “I think… she is right. You are living in the past too much… and we don’t know much about your parents. No one likes to talk about them.”
