Bethany finds herself easily adapting to life at Hogwarts; that is, until she has an interesting encounter with James and Sirius, who prove to be quite different than she'd imagined. Elsewhere, Monica is struggling with her schoolwork, and is assigned an interesting tutor...

Thanks to Albus Severus's tutoring, Monica begins to improve in all of her classes. Her good grades attract negative attention from the girls in her year, with one exception.
On a walk near the Forbidden Forest, Eddie is saved from a (tiny) menace by Luna Lovegood, and has an encounter with Hermione Granger. Taking the both of them by surprise, he reveals that he is not a typical Slytherin. While he's excited by his conversations, he also begins to worry about the consequences of his actions in the Wizarding World.

Eddie comes across Malfoy's cursed necklace, and can't figure out whether to take it or leave it. Bethany gets her revenge on James and Sirius.
