Ch. # Chapter Title Word Count Reviews
1 Of Bookings and One Pitch: An Introduction

We stood there, facing each other. “Ravenclaw must be trying to trip us up! But we’ve trained harder than they have, you lot are brilliant, ruddy brilliant. Yeah, we’ll see who’s laughing after our match. Yes…” Oliver muttered, his eyes darting around the battlements as he did.

And I said nothing. I didn’t have the foggiest why, but I didn’t think it had anything to do with Quidditch.

2 Of Captains and Conflict

Whoever thought up this Quidditch captain meeting was a bloody idiot! Oh wait, that was me. In all fairness to myself, I had not been planning on Oliver hating me so early into the season. All the same, though, it was painfully ironic: this awkward scene I would give anything to end was entirely of my own creation.

I’m mental. Seriously, that’s the only explanation I can come up with, because there is no other logical reason why I would be calling out for Felicity. It’s this simple: my resolutely autonomous self-conscious thought it would be a ruddy brilliant idea to ask her to speak with me. It was because everything about her, everything, derailed me.

And naturally we had not spoken since. There was no time for me to say anything to her and no time to hunt her down either; my team was relying on me, and the Gryffindor versus Slytherin match was looming.

So here I was, not being distracted, watching the sun rise from my four-poster. I couldn’t take it anymore. I got up as quietly as I could, trying not to wake my fellow seventh years. I pulled on my robes and tip-toed out of the dormitory.

Professor Trelawney snapped in irritation, “I was ASKING you if, staring into the misty orb that holds the mysteries of fate itself, could FEEL the resonances of the future?”

“"Oh yes," I seized upon her implication that this damn glass ball was not a useless piece of junk, "I can. Definitely."

I was grateful when the bell finally rang.

6 Of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff

Diversionary tactics are at optimum effectiveness in the worst possible conditions: your opponent is not as focused on questioning what is in front of their eyes. They are trying to see anything with their eyes, so once they catch a glimpse of Angelina, they will believe she’s attempting to score.

But she wasn’t.

“Hold on…. Hold on? Where’s the quaffle?”

Ha.

7 Of Belonging and Bruises

“Harry’s fine. Let’s talk about you. What’s wrong?” Oliver asked her, his voice low as he tried to lift her shoulders from the floor. She moaned in pain, and Oliver immediately lowered her to the ground again. “I’m so sorry, Felix. I thought… I thought it would help. Listen, I need to know what you were hit with. What hurts?”
