The Evergreen-Grinch family arrive at the beach, and as soon as Malcolm gets out of the back of the car, he walks onto the beach, and sees a beautiful red headed girl sketching the ocean from an outcropping of rock. So, he climbs up, and they begin talking. He learns that she is Lily Luna Potter, but this doesn't stop him from having a good hour with her.

Malcolm and Lily encounter their first obstacle, and once it is avoided, go for a swim that ends with a kiss. Then, they go to a nearby seafood place, and have a wonderful lunch, which ends with them making out in the alley. Then, they return to the beach.
