“It doesn’t get any easier does it?” Ruby mumbled into his chest.
“No,” He said thickly, taking a deep breath to control his emotions, “and I fear that it never will.”
 

There was silence, no screaming, no crying, not even the faint rattling of a Dementors breath. Sirius Black was at peace.
 

“Nah,” Hagrid said, “they could try, an’ I bet yer they ‘ave. But old Dumbledore’s got one up on those Death Eater’s.”
She leant forward, desperate to hear what he was about to say next.
“Who would ‘ave thought it eh? That blood magic would ‘ave saved little Harry.”

“Remus I’m sorry,” she says heavily, “but there isn’t anything that you can do.”
“He’ll be ok?” he asked numbly, desperation in his eyes.
A troubled look flits across Emily’s marred face, “I’m not going to give up on him Remus, trust me.”

Sirius wakes up from his Coma

Harry's third year continues with the Dementor's taking an interest in him, and strange occurrences around the school, the threat to Harry's life may be very real...

Moony lunged from behind the branch, his jaw was wide, white teeth glittering in the moonlight, before they clamped round Padfoot's exposed neck

"They shouldn't be playing in these conditions," Remus said, worry etched all over his face. "Someone could get seriously hurt-"

"Siriusly?" Sirius smirked.

A month had passed since the match, and it was the day that Harry would be returning from Hogwarts. To say that the inhabitants of Cherrytree cottage we're excited was an understatement. Sirius hadn't been able to keep the grin off his face as he bounced from room to room, laying small pranks around the house to catch Harry out. But after Ariana had been covered head to toe in itching powder after opening the airing cupboard door, cursing Sirius and scratching frantically, she had removed the remainder of the pranks, much to Sirius' dismay.

It was the day before Harry turned 14, and Ariana had sent Harry to the burrow for the day so that her and Remus could go to her vault at Gringotts. She'd explained to him that James had given her something to give to Harry on his eleventh birthday, before he started Hogwarts. Ariana had only just remembered James had given it to her, after all she wasn't around when he turned eleven and her thoughts were focused on saving him and everyone else. 

Harry gave a start as his name was called over the roar of the crowd outside. It was his turn. He had to leave the room and face his fate. He gulped down what little courage he had left and made his way to the arena. The bright light blinded him slightly as a wall of sound hit his ears. It had been somewhat muted in the waiting room, and he did his best to drown the sound out, to control his erratic breathing as he gazed at the scene before him.

“You know?” Ruby asked worriedly

“I know,” Ariana confirmed, kicking a chair out for Ruby to sit on. 

With which she did, with a groan and sank down onto the table, her head in her hands, she mumbled to them, “how long!”

“Oh,” Ariana said looking at her watch, “about an hour.”

“An hour?” Ruby exclaimed

“Sorry,” he said distracted. “It’s just, a West party is a big deal. I haven’t been to one since I was sixteen.”

“Ariana told me all about them,” Harry waved off Remus, “they don’t seem that bad.”

“Please, for the love of Merlin, try not to get into any trouble this year Harry.” Ruby said as she drew him into a hug. “I don’t want anymore grey hairs!” 

Harry laughed, “I don’t see any grey, Ruby.”

“You were supposed to remove the memory!” Ariana yelled, pointing at Snape. “You promised-“

“There was no way Potter would have been capable of entering my mind. He got lucky-“

“Lucky?!” Ariana exclaimed, pulling at her hair. “You couldn’t swallow your ego for once and do as I asked of you?”

“Isobel no!” Rozamez shouted, moving to rush to her niece. She heard the telltale sound of the floo, and in her haste she stumbled and tripped over her chair, falling to her knees. Panic gripped Rozamez as she felt that Isobel’s presence had left. She was all alone.

Harry screamed as he watched Ruby get thrown against the fountain in the atrium, smashing the wizard’s arm off, it clattering to the floor. She was dead. There was nothing that Harry could do but stare horrified as the woman that was considered one of his surrogate mothers just laid like a heap on the floor. Not moving.
