Ch. # Chapter Title Word Count Reviews
1 1. Break Me, Take Me?

Last time I had seen Oliver Wood, he was a scrawny little fourth year brat who had taken to following me around in my last year at Hogwarts.  Apparently he had been upset that he had taken my spot as Gryffindor’s starting Keeper back when I was in my fifth year.  It seemed no matter how many times I told him that I was better as a Chaser anyways, he was determined to make it up to me.

2 2. I Lose, I Bruise, I Make the News

The water I had been drinking was sprayed all over our kitchen cabinets.  “He said what now?!  Friends since Hogwarts, what rubbish.”  I checked the quote again.  “Good friends, even.  And that I should thank him for playing Chaser.  Ugh, the hexes I would use if he were here...”

Emma tried not to laugh at me.  “Just wait, there’s more..."

3 3. Yew and Me

Clearly this man was very gifted at the art of the schmooze. I allowed myself to play along. “It’s no problem at all. I’m quite flattered actually, but you must understand, that the young fans, especially for an old and established club like the Magpies, are so impressionable. I’m only trying to do my duty as a role model.”

4 4. Blame Game

“Wood!” I hissed. “What are you doing here?”

“Well, I...” Oliver started to speak, but I grabbed him by the collar and yanked him inside, shutting the door quickly before anyone saw us.

“You’re still following me around!”

5 5. State of My Unions

That morning was the morning that the edition of Yew Wand featuring yours truly was to be released to their subscribers, and I was nervous as hell. They had been kind enough to tell me that I would also be receiving a copy that morning, so I tiptoed into the kitchen, half expecting it to jump out and attack me. It did no such thing.

6 6. Monday, Monday

“You’ve seen me dressed up and in a bathing suit loads of times, and never once have you given me a compliment. Or carried my crap,” I pointed out as I jogged a bit to catch up with my teammate.

“Geri, Geri, Geri. That was before,” he reasoned.

7 7. You Think I’m Hot, I Think You’re Not

“Ugh, you guys are lame,” I grumbled, squeezing the water out of my hair. I had never been a huge fan of birthdays. Believe it or not, I wasn’t completely comfortable being the centre of attention. I wracked my brain for a way out, but Lloyd must have read the look on my face.

“Not a chance, sweetheart. We’re going to make this the best birthday you’ve ever had,” he grinned.

8 8. Blood on the Dance Floor

“You okay, hun?” I heard from over my shoulder. Bloody hell, it was like having a second shadow. Jonathan had found me again, and was now towering over Lenny with his arms crossed over his chest, daring him to make a move.

9 9. Headaches and Pancakes

I leapt out of the bed as fast as I could, tangling myself in sheets as I went. I may have screamed a little as I hopped around on my left leg, trying to free my right. By the time I got two feet steadily on the ground, I looked over to see Oliver lounging casually with his hands behind his head watching me. So much for the upper hand.

10 10. Mood Swing

“So you admit you’ve been trying to get us together? And in the process have made me a nervous wreck?”

She sighed and slumped down beside me. “You’re always going on about how you’d never date a non-athletic wizard because wands make people fat and lazy...”

“They do,” I insisted.

She continued as if I hadn’t said anything, “But all the Quidditch players you’ve been with have been so full of themselves...”

11 11. The Cleansweep Makes Me Weep

If I had been anyone else, I’m sure I would have almost felt sorry for Puddlemere. As it was, I was having the time of my life.  Ian and Brad had started using some of our riskier trick plays, just so that I would get more chances to score on Oliver - and I was making them too.

12 12. The Last Straw

I was quick on a broom, but not so agile on my feet. Sensing impending doom either way, I stayed where I was and waited for the inevitable.  I tried to hold my reading material unusually high, so that it covered my face, but I was too late. Oliver had already seen me, probably while I was scanning the room for trap doors and Vanishing Cabinets that might have hidden my presence.

13 13. Just Plain Unlucky

And then there was an awkward silence where we realized that we no longer had anything in common. Was my life really so meaningless that I couldn’t even relate to these successful people, and had to rely only on swearing at my immature teammates for friendship? Merlin, I was pathetic.
