James Potter is woken up in the night by loud bangs. It is soon discovered to be one of his best friends, Sirius Black, who has run away from home. Mrs Potter allows Sirius to stay with them until they go back to Hogwarts. They then go to Diagon alley to get some supplies, and come face to face with Severus Snape, with who they then have a row, only to be stopped by Lily Evans, James' crush.
