I am proud to have written this piece and what it symbolises to me as I was once in a relationship very similar to the one portrayed and I felt like I needed to write something personal to help get over it in all honesty. I did not write this to romanticise domestic violence, in fact I strongly urge all those who are in an abusive, violent relationship to seek help and assistance immediately before things become too hard to get out of, as you will see if you choose to read this story.
