She sat next to me, leaning against the couch arm as she crossed her legs. “How did you meet Dad?"

“Ah, I remember that. It took three weeks to get rid of all that water. And the fish.” She looked knowingly at me.

“Yea, sorry about that.” I blushed, trying to look as sheepish as possible. “I guess having the fourth floor turned into a giant aquarium wasn’t the most...practical idea.”

“Well that’s an interesting way of putting it."

 We walked down the street, talking a little about Quidditch, and school, and people we knew. We reached the park down the street, and I ran over and sat down on the swings.

“Push me!” I yelled, as he caught up. Instead of walking around behind me, he leaned forward and grabbed the chains in front of me, pushing me back slightly. He stopped when his face was even with mine. His grey eyes were illuminated by the street lamp above us, and his smile was so warming, that I felt it reach the tips of my toes.

“How about another bet ladies? I’m thinkin’ a week till James gets back together with Mary.” Lia said, looking at us all excitedly.
“Lia.” I said seriously. “You have a problem.”
“No I don’t!”
“Last week you bet on what color shoes Professor Chang would be wearing.”
“Hey, you have to admit, she’s definitely got a whole rainbow in her closet.”

I needed a croissant mustache that I could wear all the time. A croisstache! Maybe it’ll catch on! It’d be a phenomenal way to avoid nasty smells.

It was then that I realized how truly mental I was.

Dom looked calmly at Lia. “Well, how was your day hun?” She asked in an even tone.

Lia’s eyes darkened and her fists clenched. “THAT’S WHAT YOU’RE ASKING ME! ARE YOU SERIOUS?” She spit out.

“Lia, hun, we’re using our inside voices now. Now, come sit down and explain to us how much of a jerk my idiot of a cousin has been again.” I said soothingly, repressing the urge to retort that I was not, in fact, Sirius Black. 

“Well...uh...I needed to ask you something.” Alice stammered, looking at her feet.

“I’m not getting you drugs. Legal or otherwise.” Ava stated firmly.

Lia's favorite was the one with a little penguin on the belly, saying “Just waddling through!” She said it would be ironic to wear it before everyone even knew that I was pregnant.

Clearly, when your best friend is pregnant, your job is to remind her of all the terrible things that are going to happen to her. Like how fat she’ll get. 

The little girl giggled and began to eat her ice cream as I recalled a similar night over a decade previously.

“You know, your big sister used to eat ice cream when she had nightmares too.” 

 But there was one person Chuck liked more than anyone else. Lia.

Lia hates cats. Especially Chuck.
