It is Halloween at Hogwart's. Snape and the staff are forced to deal with obnoxious holiday decorations, an annoying co-worker determined to force himself upon everyone he can and threatening messages written upon the walls of the castle. To top it all off, the much anticipated Gryffindor/Slytherin Quidditch match futhers Snape's suspicions that someone is out to get the Boy-Who-Lived and that there is a deepening need for a new defense professor...

An incident in Potions leaves Snape questioning the integrity of Harry and his friend especially after ingredients go missing from his personal stores. An incredibly peculiar moment at Lcokhart's dueling club followed by another attack on a student leaves the student body afraid of Harry.

After a stern warning from Snape, Harry attempts to do the right thing when he stumbles upon some information that may identify the perpetrator of the attacks. What happens when unforeseen events forces Harry to defy Snape and thrusts him right into the dangers he had been hoping to avoid?
