Kenway’s older brother Dylan strolled towards a girl with light orange hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a red sweater, which did not match at all with her hair.

The moment she noticed Dylan, Dominique turned her back and began walking in the opposite direction. Dylan broke out in a run and tried to grab her shoulder. “Wait Dom, hear me out—”

Dominique ran faster, exclaiming “I can’t! You don’t understand! The answer is no!” and Albus could have sworn he heard a sob.
 
 

“Dad! Did you hear about the Dark Knights who broke into Hogwarts and dueled a bunch of people?” Dylan's father nodded. “And?”

“And if Kenway of Amy had been seriously injured, the Headmaster would have sent us an owl by now. It’s nothing to get so upset about,” his father added bracingly.

“Nothing to get upset about? Dad! That’s almost all of Dominique’s family!"
