Mallory Lark is unfamiliar with the magical world. Receiving an invitation to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was most definitely a surprise, even after meeting her quirky relatives for the first time. After growing up not knowing about her magical powers, Mallory is sent off to Hogwarts. After meeting new friends and making bitter enemies, things take a dark turn when a school-wide search for a missing magical object goes wrong. Mallory feels it would be better if she had just stayed home.
