Hagrid's first class takes the gang up to the roof, where tempers flare dangerously.

A Daily Prophet article, a fight with Malfoy, and the Room of Requirement... "Oy, Potter!" Malfoy called. "You're telling people that Muggles are out to get you now?" He laughed at his own joke, and a chorus of snickers erupted from the Slytherins behind him. "Ignore him, Harry," Hermione hissed. "Well if one of them is trying to off you, it's a shame he missed," Malfoy added.

Harry learns more about the mysterious Sect from an unlikely source.

Harry loses it when he finds out about Snape's betrayal, and uses Remus as a sounding board. Remus, in turn, tells Harry a bit more about the mysterious Sect of the Serpent. Malfoy's advances towards Gwyn begin to be more than friendly...

Harry and the adults ponder the significance of the events of Halloween.

In which people get upset, people try out new hairstyles -- on each other, and Harry, Ron, and Hermione lose their tempers.
