She had just finished dishing up her food when a snowy white owl she easily recognized flew in and landed on her shoulder. “Hello Hedwig.” Hermione smiled and smoothed the birds feathers. This had been the only thing that actually belonged to Harry that Hermione had and had taken to America with her. Hedwig was just as faithful to her as she’d always been for Harry.

For anybody who didn’t know better it would’ve seemed like they were the perfect little family. Oliver began to wonder, would such a thing be possible? Would he ever be able to get into her heart the way Harry had? No not like Harry had he’d never be able to take Harry’s place and didn’t want to, he knew that. But would Hermione ever let another man into her life at all?

I hope you’re proud of James and Lily, Harry. I’ll always love you. Are you ok? A great part of me couldn’t really believe he was truly gone and I couldn’t move on.

Hermione smiled, not missing the knowing look, and followed her children and Oliver out of the hall, her fellow colleagues watching her. Dumbledore looked at McGonagall and gave her a small I-told-you-so smile. “Maybe you were right Albus.” Minerva stated lightly, watching as the hands of her two former students brushed and they smiled at one another.

“James! Lily!” She screamed again feeling the panic begin to rise in her chest. Still there was no reply. She went back out and searched for a note, praying there was one somewhere that told her where her children were at. Still she found nothing, not a trace that anyone had been in the room and not a trace of her children.

You know I used to always come out here and watch you guys practice when you were captain. Harry was on the team and I could always say I simply wanted to be around for him…it wouldn’t be the truth though.
