She was looking at their intertwined hands and the sticky redness that was streaming from between them. "Why did you do it?" She asked quietly. He looked away. Would she believe him? Did it even matter if she did? It had been done and he wouldn't go back and undo it even if that opportunity had arisen. He had saved her. She was safe and that was all that mattered.
