Melanie Ross is an orphaned witch. She has been at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry for 6 years with her three best friends. Everyone says that 7th year has a profound effect on people. But can Mel find out who she is? Can she learn to love, or even get along with her worst enemy, Sirius Black?

Mel has an idea to pay back Sirius for the whole 'hair' dying thing, the only problem is she'll be bending a few rules on the way. Will Lily, head girl and rule abider, allow herself to be swayed by Mel. What exactly happens down in the dungeons anyway?

The day of the Hogsmeade visit finally arrives, and Mel meets up with Dan as her friends prepare to go out with the Marauders. How will there day fare? What does Dan want to ask Mel?

After detention, Mel and Sirius have yet another arguement, ending in one of them been on the recieving end of the other's fist. Mel disappears the next day, purposely keeping her distance. When she returns to the common room, another argument is sure to ensue....

Mel decideds that its about time she seen Dan. After a week of avoidance, she is starting to feel a little ignored. In a bid to surprise him, she heads to his usual haunt- the Library. But who gets the surprise? What happens when Mel wakes up in the hospital wing, along with a surprising visitor?

Sirius and Mel need to talk. That has been obvious, to everyone but them. But when Sirius finally realises they need to resolve their differents, Mel makes a very hard confession, at least, a confession hard to admit. What exactly happens in the Room of Requirement?

One word. One major problem. Sirius and Remus find out the one thing they shouldnt. But is Sirius discovering something else along the way?

Remus' furry little problem is out. How will the girls react?

~A/N Story is taking a new, slightly darker turn, but trust me, its all good!~ Mel makes a startling realisation about herself. One she has been aware of but did not realise its significance. Now as dark times draw near, Mel is fighting to figure it all out herself, before disaster strikes. Her friends, however, are trying to discover just exactly what Mel is reading divination books for. Will Mel achieve her goal? Will her friends discover the reasons for her new intersest?

Mel finally puts down the books after issuing Sarah with a warning. Feeling like she has done something to help, Mel relax a little.

Unfortunately, while she is having fun, dark times are about to embark on them.

Christmas day starts of good for Mel, after a rough night, she's glad to throw herself into the festivites. Little does she know, that her worst nightmare has come true. Dumbledore breaks the news that Merlin's Orphanage has been destroyed, and someone is missing....

Dumbledore is left musing after Sarah relays what happened after she left Hogwarts. Mel, meanwhile, is rudely awoken earlier than she would have liked by a feathry friend bearing good news. Sirius gets a shock kiss from someone, who regrets it (Well a little!)

The gang sneak into Hogsmeade, wondering why its curiously busier than usual. Further up the mountains, an unwanted letter angers a man who is getting ready to attack.

Mel struggles up the path to safety, while Dumbledore and the others wonder what has happened to her. She's horrified by what has happened, and ashamed of her actions, but why?
