Somehow, even with all the differences between us, we became friends by the end of the train ride. We each walked nervously into the Great Hall, and I gripped Remus’s hand. He looked at me, and I could tell he was nervous also.

I turned around to see the bludger that was heading straight toward me. “Oh sh-,“ I started, but never finished. I never even had time to move. The bludger hit me full on in the stomach. I heard my ribs crack, and pain spread throughout my body. I lost my balance, and fell off my broom, gripping it tightly in one hand. Sirius flew underneath me, aiming to catch me if I fell. My hand was sweaty, and as my ribs gave a big pang of pain, I lost my grip and fell. I lost my breath for the second time in three minutes and lost consciousness.

“Come here,” he said. I finally opened my eyes. He was looking at me closely. I scooted closer to him. He wrapped his arms around me, and I buried my head in his chest. “If you ever need anything, you know I’m here for you.”
