After reading an interesting essay by Ginny, Harry and Hermione realize that they might need to make some adjustments in order to convince everyone that their relationship is platonic. Excerpt: Hermione’s jaw dropped, for the second time in the last ten minutes, in utter disbelief. “Harry asked you to write an essay on us?” she asked in a monotone. “Not exactly,” Ginny replied, biting her tongue as she finished a paragraph. “I just happen to really have thought this out. And you two just happen to give me a lot of support for my thesis and topic sentences.”

The chapter in which Hermione becomes less fond of her Head of House, Ron and Ginny scheme, and Harry comes up with ridiculous ideas. Excerpt: "No, it’s perfect,” Harry explained. “If you change your first name, then we won’t have the same initials.” “Harry, I got what you were saying,” Hermione said. “The idea just won’t work.” “Why not?” Harry asked. “Name one thing that’s wrong with it.” “Well, for one, it requires changing my name.” "Your point being?"

Ginny gets to write her own list for once, and Ron commentates. Meanwhile, the two youngest Weasleys discover someone that could possibly destroy their perfectly laid out plans, and Harry and Hermione make their way to the Granger's house. Harry discovers that Mrs. Granger might want nothing more than for him to marry her daughter, but Mr. Granger would like nothing more than to find a secluded area and bury him alive. Christmas with the Grangers might be very interesting...

Hermione unconsciously begins to question her relationship with Harry, while Ginny reveals a side of herself that no one has ever seen before, as well as a look into exactly WHY she gave up on Harry. But of course, as Ron's image had left the scene of all such pictures, it was only Harry who had his arms wrapped around a laughing Hermione, his head resting comfortably against her, a satisfied smile on his face. And though Hermione would admit it to no one, she knew that she would mourn the day when Ron would return to the photo.

Events at the ice skating rink appear to be tearing down any idea concerning a platonic relationship that either Harry or Hermione once had. All the while, the two find themselves bending reality to avoid the truth. Meanwhile, Ron seems to be making headway with Luna - though just barely, much to Ginny's annoyance.

Christmas has arrived, and with it gifts, insane relatives, and...a kiss?! Excerpt: “Oh God, Harry,” she whispered. “I…I can’t believe…” Her throat was quickly becoming constricted by a sob, and she bit her lip as tears blurred her eyesight. “Do you like it?” Harry asked hesitantly. Before anyone could blink an eye, Hermione had thrown herself onto Harry, wrapping her arms firmly around him. “I love it,” she whispered into his ear, burying her face into his shoulder as she felt tears stream down her face. “Oh, Harry. You have no idea…”

Hermione finally reads the entire List...and she's in for a huge shock. Will everything finally be set right? And what exactly is going on with Dean and Ginny? Excerpt: “Harry?” Hermione whispered, staring at his name. “Harry…loves me?” She felt the beginnings of another, more severe panic attack. “How is that possible?”
