The golden door at the end of the hall is like a beacon of light against the darkness, offering a haunting luminescence so divine and so utterly terrifying it is almost holy. It seems to stretch further and further away the closer I draw to it, and I soon realize I am sprinting down the corridor – sprinting to my death sentence.
