Ch. # Chapter Title Word Count Reviews
1 Of All the Words in the World

The day of Rayelin's eleventh birthday, something came in the mail. Something that would change her life forever. Something that proposed yet another issue for the family to face.

That issue was education. Now that her father was gone, she wouldn't be able to continue on the family tradition. They had never thought of that before, not until that day.

2 Sad Tales

Next thing Rayelin knew, everyone was watching her, waiting for her story. She stumbled, knowing very well the story but not wanting to say anything. She could feel her eyes watering, but held back the tears. She had, after all, vowed never to cry in front of anyone again. So, instead of telling her story, she looked all sad and told them her mother had never really talked about it. That all she knew was that anyone in the family who had fought in the battle was no longer there. Just those two sentences from her mouth, though, seemed to be enough.
