I took a deep, shaky breath. I would go there three days for the wedding, and then be gone. That was all I had to do, I told myself, nothing more. But already I felt like it would be too much for me to handle.CHAPTER CHANGED

“Why don’t we start over?” Sirius asked encouragingly. He held out his hand. “Sirius Black. Pleased to meet you.”
“Madysen Adams.” I replied lightly taking his rough hand and then pulling mine quickly away. “And…likewise.”
Sirius smiled crookedly. “See, that wasn’t so bad.”CHAPTER CHANGED.

“I know I made mistakes,” Sirius said with emotion filling his eyes.

 “You bet you did.”“What was I supposed to do?!” He yelled.

“Padfoot, what did you tell them to drink?” James asked in an incredulous voice. I saw Sirius come out of his gaze, obviously confused. “Pumpkin juice…” His voice trailed off as he looked down at me, horrified.

“Ok, so this is the part where you get her drunk?” Sirius asked excitedly for about the billionth time. Apparently, this was going to be his favorite part. He seemed thoroughly interested in my life story. I just hoped he realized that I had dangerously edited some parts.

“Well, how do you know he’s not interested?” He asks in a serious tone, catching me off guard.
“I just do.” I tell him plainly. That’s what I am. Plain. Compared to Dorcas.
“You might be surprised.”

I shrugged and then felt myself blush. “I just can’t believe we’re dancing.”
Sirius started to smirk and I thought I felt him move closer. “What’s so unbelievable about that?”
Biting my lip and looked away, “You hate me.”
