Though still angry because of the memories Alana is awakening, Harry returns to the journal and reads about what happened after his defeat.

Harry visits Hagrid, and is left to brood over Hagrid's comment about his relationship with Alana. Alana's journal reveals what happened when Ron and Hermione escorted her from Azkaban.

Harry and Alana each reflect on their son. At the Halloween dance, Harry remembers one particular dance that came along and changed everything.

Harry looks through a trunk filled with Alana's possessions, and wades through memories that both contradict and complement each other, painting a picture of a very complicated woman.

Alana explains the science, history, and politics involved in Voldemort's plan to push her closer to Harry. Harry remembers his time with Alana in the Ministry, and how their relationship started.

Alana reflects on leaving Grimmauld Place to rejoin Voldemort's ranks as a spy, while Harry reacts to hearing about Alana's deep and abiding pain.

Alana's journal reveals how she felt about her reaction to Harry's hatred when they lived in Grimmauld Place together. Harry succumbs to a deep regret and guilt for how he behaved towards her.
