This September the first was not a normal day by any standards.  For starters, Sirius had, for once, arrived with someone he didn’t inherently despise; James had actually shown up on time, partly because of Sirius (whom was raised completely on the basis of punctuality); Lily Evans had not, as of yet, said one, single word to Severus Snape; and Remus John Lupin, Prefect and O-student, was late to board because he had been distracted by a girl.

It isn't easy for Remus' friends to understand why he'll never raise a fuss and it isn't easy for Lily to understand the Marauders - at all.

While the Marauders plan their Halloween extravaganza, Lily gets another reason to hate Louisa Gurdy, James gets another reason to scream like a girl, and the Marauders get another reason to worry about Sirius.

Lily can't stand to look at jealousy too close in the face (as it would probably stick its tongue out at her) and Sirius can't stand to be without a date.

As Sirius' and Jenna's relationship blossoms in an…er…heartwarming way, Remus finds himself wondering why he can't be with Felicity — and then crashing into the conclusion.

While Lily celebrates her seventeenth birthday, James revels in a successful conversation with the love of his young life and Sirius contemplates hitting him over the head for it.
