"About halfway down his chosen aisle he spotted Tonks, balanced precariously on a stool and attempting to reach a book on the highest shelf.  He arched his eyebrows and walked toward her, clearing his throat and making other such loud, presence-announcing noises so that when he spoke she wouldn’t be startled.  When he reached her he cleared his throat again and asked, “Do you want me to get someone?”  She gave a tiny shriek and fell off the stool.  He lunged forward instinctively to catch her."
