"Boys?"
"No they're girls but their parents thought they were boys and gave them boy names."

“What did you do?” Venus demanded.
James pointed up in response and broke out into another fit of laughter.
Venus and Sirius looked up. Venus turned back to James to glare while Sirius turned red, thankfully behind Venus’s back.
“Jinxed mistletoe? Honestly?”

“Is she dying?”
“No, she was hit with the Killing Curse, didn’t you hear? She’s already dead.”
“Venus Richardson is dead?”

“What’s wrong with you people?” Venus asked, pulling some food towards herself. “Padfoot and Prongs should be having an eating contest, Wormtail should be judging them, and Moony should be ignoring them and shoving food down his throat without knowing that he looks like a pig.”

“’Mystery Guy,’” Venus rolled her eyes, “sent me a note asking me to meet him tonight at 11:00 by the lake!”

“Who do you like, Moony?” Venus asked.
“I secretly have a crush on you, but I’m too scared of Sirius to do anything about it, which is why I’m keeping it a secret,” Remus replied seriously.

Never did Lily think the day would come where James Potter would fail to notice her.
But here it was.

McGonagall and Flitwick looked as if they were trying not to panic, but McGonagall kept shooting nervous looks down the lane in the direction of Hogwarts. Dumbledore had yet to make an appearance.

Kevin turned to go, but stopped suddenly and turned back with a dazzling smile. “I’m glad your hair’s like that again. I missed the happy Venus.”

“Vee?”
“Yes?” she glanced back up at Remus.
He gave her a look. “What are you planning?”
“Nothing!” Venus cried indignantly.

“Nothing’s going to happen,” James told her firmly. “We’re all going to be just fine. We’ll get out of this; you’ll see.”

“We better,” Venus said quietly. “All of us.”
