Parents's sins are wars never won.

“I am not you, father. I won’t give in to other’s demands and give up the woman I love.”

Draco cringes. His son’s words are so similar to the ones he once said, that, for a split second, he thinks that a younger version of him was speaking then. This is wrong. This is so wrong that it frightens him to death.

“For remember this, my dears: an ambitious woman is never dominated. Not even a foolish and beautiful one. Because need can be ten-times more powerful than love, and if a man gives in to his need, there is only one step from disaster…and on that thin line, at the edge of a dark hole: this is where Scorpius stands.”

And when the dusk settled on the second day, Rose heard a knock on her bedroom door and stiffened: it was a loud bang, enough to echo around the room, but a feminine one at the same time. She could feel the anticipation; the adrenaline taking control over her and her whole body was coming back to life again. And as the door unlocked she smiled a cold smile and turned around slowly with her heart up her sleeve.

“I think I’ll go now,” was her only answer, as all signs of self-pity disappeared from her features when she showed in stead the typical Lily expression: what was there to loose anymore? “I have a party to attend and you’re no entertainment at all. You and your secrets are making dizzy."

“It’s not that you care,” she sing-songed again, drawing circles around the press-papier he smashed before. “It’s that you have no other options.”

It burns.
