I jerked to face him as tears streamed down my freckled cheeks. “You made me love you!” I screamed at him. I stiffly and brutally swiped the tears from my eyes. “And then,” I said in a softer tone, “you betrayed me to what I feared most. You used my love to change me into what they wanted of me. You betrayed me, heart and soul, Anthony.” I saw his eyes flash with remorse, which was like twisting the knife that lay embedded in my heart. “I loved you,” I whispered, “and that is why I can’t forgive you.”
