Chapter 1
Who's knocking on the door at bloody 4 in the morning? I went to answer the door and it flew open smashing me in the face, causing me to fall backwards on the floor.
"Alright there, mate?" Sirius asked, grinning down at me.
"What," I paused, emphasizing the word. "the hell are you doing here?"

Chapter 2
“Moony, it’s great to see you. It’s been nearly a month.” James said as he smiled towards Remus. He turned to me then and looked into my eyes so deeply that it almost made me blush. With all seriousness, he said. “And Lily. Lily, you look so beautiful it hurts.”
Everything went silent and I turned to Remus. He looked furious, but I knew he wouldn’t say anything.

Chapter 3
“UMPH.”
I looked up and saw Sirius. “Oh! I’m SO sorry. I didn’t mean-“
“S’alright, Lily.” He said, grinning.
“What are you smiling about?” God, he knew.
“Nothing, nothing at all.” Could he make it more obvious?
“Ugh, could you just tell me where Remus is?” I asked, tapping my foot impatiently.
“But, of course.” He twirled his hand in the air and pointed towards his right. He almost looked like a butler.

Chapter 4
“You have a choice to make, Lily: Remus Lupin or James Potter. I’m not pressuring you to make you decision anytime soon, but it would be nice if I could kiss you in public. Just let me know when your mind is made up. You know where to find me.”
I watched him walk out of my room, followed by him opening and closing the front door. He was out of sight, now, but he was definitely not out of mind.

Chapter 5
“Don’t be jealous, Moony. Green isn’t an attractive colour on you.” He paused and looked towards me. “You on the other hand. . .”
“Whatever, Sirius.” I said, looking at the ground.
“No, really. James keeps going on and on about your green eyes.” As soon as I heard James’s name mentioned, my head shot up. Merlin, I was pathetic. “He says they’re beautiful; that they’re the window to your soul. So, obviously green is a nice colour on you.” He said grinning.
Remus suddenly looked up and shot daggers at Sirius. That was my cue to leave.

Chapter 6
“See? You DO love me.”
Suddenly, my feet were off of the ground. I didn’t have time to react. He grabbed my waist, lifting me up over his shoulder (so I was bent in half), and started bringing me down the staircase.
“James! Stop! Put me down.” I said, my arms crossed.
“No.”
He carried me all of the way to the front door, then placed me lightly on my feet. “Get out.” I said, staring him down. It’s harder than it sounds when I’m so much shorter than him.

Chapter 7
“I apologize.” He said as he grabbed my hand, twining our fingers together. It felt so right.
“Well,” I paused. “I don’t accept it.”
He smirked at me. “Maybe there’s something I could do to change that?”
I saw his face getting closer and closer to mine. I knew it was wrong, but I didn’t stop him. He kept looking at my eyes, making sure it was OK; making sure I wouldn’t snap and slap him.

Chapter 8
He gently, but harshly, moved his face out of my hands and looked over to Sirius, continuing their conversation.
He knew. My feeling instantly went from happy and lightheaded to feeling dirty and dead.
I had, yet again, put myself into a situation where I had no idea what to do.

Chapter 9
He pulled me closely and kissed me so hard, my knees became weak and I could barely move.
Quickly, he pulled away from me, staring at my eyes. “Doesn’t the fact that I love you and would do anything to have you make you love me? Just a little? It drives me bloody mental just to think about you, then I actually see you and want to grab you and never let you go. Don’t you want me?”

Chapter 10
I didn’t say anything for a while, I just looked at him until he faced me again. “I am happy.”
With that, I reached up on my toes and lightly kissed him. He pulled away and smiled as he grabbed my hand.
“Let’s go for an actual walk.” He said, pulling me towards the grounds.
After walking for ten minutes of complete silence, I was about to break down. He had spent the whole time tracing loops and designs up and down my back and arms.

Chapter 11
“That’s alright.” He said grinning. “We have the rest of our lives.”
I gulped. “That’s quite the commitment.”
He laughed, still tracing patterns on my hand. “Well, it’s either friends for life or a very annoying James Potter stalking you for the rest of your life.”
I looked at him and he winked. “Deal. We’ll be friends for life.”
“That’s all I’m asking.”

Chapter 12
“Friends.” I repeated. “They don’t do this.”
“Well, I guess you and your friends don’t do this, but when Padfoot is having girl troubles, I always cuddle with him.” I could feel the smile in his voice.
“Well, alright, if you do this with your friends…”
“Really?” He asked, surprised.
“No.” I said, disbelief evident in my voice.

Chapter 13
“You’re a prat.” She said after a few seconds.
“And you’re so unbelievably innocent. It’s adorable.”
“Whatever, James.”
She rested her head against the back of the couch, her eyes closed. She seemed perfectly relaxed, not to mention beautiful. She loved me. It was obvious. No one could be this comfortable around someone they didn’t love, could they?

Chapter 14
“Got something to say, Evans? Or are you just going to stare at me? Don’t worry, most girls do that to me anyways. I’m used to it.” Sirius egged her on.
Ha, that was a good one. I probably would have laughed if she didn’t look like she was about to rip his head off.
Lily’s head whipped towards my direction. Bullocks, I had never been good at keeping my laughter to myself.
