“I’m going to give you a choice, Montgomery, either you shape up or you can find yourself new mates.”  His voice was full of cold fury.

“So pretty much what you mean is both I lose my backbone and let you tell me who I can talk to, what I can do and what I can say or you want nothing to do with me?” she couldn’t believe what he was saying. 

He smiled at her.  “Glad to hear.  Well in that case you’ve just won yourself a date for detention tonight.  Can’t have a bird like you be all alone with those predator nimwits who are bound to be in detention tonight now can I?”

“What do you mean?  Did Gray hit you?” he sounded outraged, though he had never really been overly fond of her.

She nodded, “Hence the trip to the Hospital Wing.”

“I might have told him that Lily agreed to come to the victory party tonight,” she told her, her grin turning to a little smirk.

“But Lily never agreed to come,” Alice pointed out.  “She never comes.”
 
“That’s why I said I might have told a little white lie,” she could explode with happiness.  “Either way Lily is going to be there whether I have to nick a polyjuice potion from Slughorn or drag her down kicking and screaming."

“So you’re the yin to my yang, huh?” she inquired with a small smile.

“More like I’m the peanut butter to your jelly,” he grinned at her.

 “Nah you’d be like the cookie to my milk,” she shook her head returning his grin.

“Fair warning, James, if you spend the entire game telling Lily how beautiful she is or how much you fancy her I’ll make sure you get alcohol poisoning,” Emily threatened.

“Just because some of us aren’t as vocal about our issues doesn’t mean we don’t have,” she retorted.
“Oh really?  And what issues do you have then?”“It’s none of your business.”
