It is the end of the summer holidays for Greg Bennett, an 11-year-old boy in the quiet Devon village of Chudleigh. By the end of the day, however, his life will never be the same again.
 

Magic is a reality for Greg and Matthew, but as the older boy begins to explain the history of the school, and the two children prepare for their journey on the Hogwarts Express, Matt finds himself sharing more than he had planned. Slytherin House is more than just a dormitory.
 
 
 

Lessons start at Hogwarts for Greg and the other first-year Slytherins, as Professor Binns begins the term by finding a way to make the Battle of Hogwarts sound boring. Old wars, however, are far from the new pupils' thoughts after the lesson.
 

It's the first Quidditch Practice of the season for the Slytherin boys: an opportunity to learn more about the game, and the positions... or to learn more about one another than they had expected.
 

Isaac, Greg and Glyn pay the penalty for their hasty words the previous day: words, after all, can be dangerous weapons.
 

The Christmas term ticks onwards as the castle begins to build up to the first games of the Quidditch season, as Slytherin take on Gryffindor.
 
 

The aftermath of the first Quidditch match of the season leads the Slytherin boys to learn more about themselves - and the wizarding world - than they really wanted to find out.
 
 

The boys begin their Christmas holidays, and find that their research into their History of Magic project begins to lead them in an unexpected direction.
 

Classes continue as the Easter term moves onwards, but there is more to be learned than just what's on the lesson plans.

As the dust settles on the end of the regular Quidditch season, thoughts in the Castle turn to the upcoming exam week. For the Slytherins, however, an old piece of homework starts to come in more useful than they could ever have imagined.
 

As Hogwarts looks ahead to the final weeks of term, the first-years find themselves being drawn deeper and deeper into the story of the Wild Hunt and the Tregeagles.

It's a waiting game at Hogwarts - but no one knows quite how long they will be waiting, or indeed what they're ultimately waiting for...
 

The overhanging threat of the Wild Hunt has passed for now, but, as the year draws to a close, there are still the small questions of the end-of-year exams, and the Quidditch Cup playoff.
