“It’s Ron! Isn’t it?” Hermione was pretty sure this was one of the widest grins she had ever seen planted on Ginny’s face.

“Um, no, no it’s not.” Hermione replied slowly.


Ginny’s smile died down and she pressed her lips together. “Is it one of the twins then? I’m not sure I could stand it if you liked Percy--”

“Hey, Mum!” he shouted, not noticing who was in the room quite yet. “Hey Harry, Hermione. How are you—“ George stopped dead in his tracks and stared at the girl in his living room. “Hermione…” he muttered, his voice trailing off slowly.

“Mummy?” George asked; a puzzled look on his face. “Fred? No, my name’s George,” he stated simply, pushing aside the fact that Brody had called Hermione mommy.

“That’s my other middle name!” Brody exclaimed. Hermione mentally slapped herself. She knew the moment she made Brody’s middle name George it would come back to bite her in the arse.

“Remember the first time we sat at this tree together?” George asked, looking off into the distance. The sun was setting and it was the perfect time of night. 

Hermione nodded her head slowly. “Yeah,” she replied. “The summer after my sixth year, and your seventh. Where it all started,” she looked over at him, but he was still looking out at the sunset.
