The portrait swung open. Ginny’s smiling face fell as she took in my purple hair.

“What happened?”

“Thing One and Thing Two happened.” I growled. Ginny nodded. I had given her a Dr. Suess book for Christmas last year so she knew what I was talking about. “I walked into one of their stupid pranks. There was rainbow smoke everywhere. I stood up and discovered that my hair turned purple!”
 

                I didn’t reply. Instead I reached for the door knob. My hand met something soft and fleshy. I quickly took my hand back. Was it just me or was it getting warm in here? Maybe my blushing face was radiating heat.

                “You’re not leaving until you tell us why you’re hiding in a broom closet.” Fred’s voice said from above me. Like, right above me.
