Ch. # Chapter Title Word Count Reviews
1 Uncomfortable New Beginnings

She was sat directly opposite me at our house table gazing around the Great Hall. The look in her eyes and the repetitive way she was rubbing her hands made it clear to me that she was uncomfortable. Not surprising. The school was considerably more crowded this year as there was essentially eight years instead of the usual seven. Well, more like seven and a half. Like I said, I'd returned with the war survivors.

2 The Other Malfoy

At that moment the girl in question turned and looked towards our table, her eyes flickering from one face to the next along the entire table, talking to herself as she went. I know my lip-readings not up to scratch but I'd guess she was...counting? Surely there's more exciting things to do than count the number of people at the Gryffindor table? The other Malfoy.

3 Smells, Slughorn and Socks

'Mr Potter, Miss Malfoy, how far have we got? Well I must say I would have thought you two would have gotten further by now, you definitely need to pull your socks up a little.' Pull your socks up, huh. Figure of speech - made a big mistake there Slughorn.

4 A Moment Of Destruction

I could feel the small droplets of blood start to fall from where her nails had scratched through the thin layers of skin on my neck. She was so close to my face I could feel her every breath. Eyes shut. Long, slow deep breath in. Breathe out. Eyes open. She didn't look at my face though, just where her fingers kept their tight grip on my throat.

5 The Unspoken Truce

We sat in silence for a further hour, just watching the darkened world outside the west tower. I smoked my remaining cigarettes, while he stroked his scratches, both lost in our own thoughts.

6 The Breakfast Game

I had foreseen three potential outcomes to my plan. Really this was a win-win-win situation...She went with outcome number three.

7 Dangerous Conversations

Sat at the top of the west tower, fag in hand as usual I could only think of two things. Number one - House Unity was complete and utter bull shit! I mean come on; I was expected to attend a dance with Granger. How crap is that? I think the giant squid that lives in the lake would be a better partner. Definitely better looking. Number two - I had the hangover from hell and really wished my sister would stop screaming like a banshee.

8 Indescribable Perfection

Typical for any member of the Malfoy family she arrived exactly on time. I couldn't help but wonder if they sat in the mansion during the holidays practicing perfection and etiquette. It wouldn't surprise me. She stomped to a halt in front of me with her hands rammed tightly in her pockets and an angry scowl plastered across her face. Good start.

9 Dances And Foreign Languages

Those stormy grey eyes were unmasking an excitement so vivid she may as well have been bouncing up and down like a child who had just seen Santa, complete with a sack full of presents and a herd of flying reindeer.
