Parchment, Quills, and Symbols “James, can I borrow one of your extendable ears?” James started digging in his pockets, but Lily must have noticed the worried look on his face. |

Candies on the Train Albus pushed his trolley and started running at the barrier between platforms nine and ten. He was going faster, faster, FASTER; he didn’t have control of his cart anymore. He was about to hit the barrier. He closed his eyes and he felt Harry keeping the cart steady. They would hit the barrier anytime now, and then: they were on platform nine and three quarters. Albus opened his eyes to see the bright scarlet engine of the Hogwarts Express, and the hustle-bustle of witches, wizards, and Weasleys. |

Slytherin vs Green Madam Wood (the Quidditch referee) had the captains shake hands. Pursang tried his best to crush Justin’s fingers while Justin glared at him through narrowed eyes. Madam Wood opened the box of balls and blew her whistle, starting the game. |

Detention After what seemed like a lifetime later, Stark let Jeremy go, claiming that Albus could handle the rest on his own. Jeremy didn’t need telling twice; he shot Albus an apologetic look and took off. Great, Albus still had over ten more puffer fish eyes left to shove in jars. |

Tricks and Treats As he was sucking on the candy, he thought he heard Violet and Abigail giggling in the back, but he didn’t think anything of it until Jeremy, Chris, and even Jacob started chuckling. Kenway had awoken and was laughing as well. He nudged Albus and pointed to his head. |

Quidditch Against Hufflepuff Albus woke to a girl with short dark hair making his glasses fly around the room. Upon seeing he was awake, she allowed them to fall on his lap. “I’m here to deliver you to the celebration taking place in the Gryffindor common room. Though I don’t understand why you would be celebrating now, we’re totally going to win the Quidditch cup. I don’t care if you’re in the number one spot, Ravenclaw for the win!” |

The Werewolf in the Desk Albus thought about what he hated most. He remembered the clown at his cousin Quinton Dursley’s birthday party. The image of it was still vivid in his memory, though it was many years ago: the crazy blue hair, the unearthly pale skin, and the insane laughter. How could he make something as evil as that funny? |

May Second Albus could barely stay awake during the day between quidditch and learning defense spells. Quidditch almost seemed easier since he didn’t need to concentrate as hard to catch the snitch. He had no idea how he managed to get all his homework done. |

The Quidditch Final Albus caught a glimpse of the Snitch. He shot off after it, gaining speed by the second. If only he could catch it, then he could win Gryffindor the Quidditch Cup! He couldn’t see Lucy anywhere. Where was she? She was a good Seeker; she should be fighting with him over who could grab it first. |

The Intruders Return As they passed the library Albus almost yelped when someone behind them said suddenly “What are you doing?” They turned. Molly Weasley was emerging from an empty classroom across from the library. Her arms were full of spell books and she looked as if she had spent more time studying than sleeping as of late. |

Dueling the Dark Knights Albus, James, and Kenway all tried to hit Palmer with a jellylegs jinx at the same time, but she easily cast a strong shield which (as it seemed to Albus) strengthened the jinxes as they bounced back. They hit Molly in the back as she was trying to stun Dunstan. The force caused her to skid a little as she collapsed on the ground. Rose and Fred both shot stunning spells at Dunstan before he could hex Molly, but as soon as she caught her breath she continued to fight as vigorously as she had before, even without the use her legs. |

In the Hospital Wing Albus looked around at his family. Fred and James were lying in adjacent beds, planning something in low voices, Roxanne and Hugo were trading chocolate frog cards, and Kenway was practicing the summoning charm on Rose’s pillow, which she had been leaning against to read her book more comfortably. |

“The lessons that were offered helped me enormously. Suddenly it was easier to write scenes, imagine them and bring suspension and romance in it. I loved it! It helped me in a way other bloggers couldn’t and still can’t.” - Student
