I've ruined my future. NEWTs are this year. How am I going to study with this hanging over my head? I guess I should be grateful that this is my seventh year. I can finish this year, have the baby and find a job. But what job will want a single mum with a newborn baby? I don't even know what I want to do with my life. How can I take care of a child with this sort of mindset? I am beyond screwed.

"I was scared," I nearly holler, my fists clenched at my sides. "Clarissa hates me now, so why wouldn't you? You have more of a reason. I'm ruining your life."

I don't blame her for asking. I don't blame her for being angry and disappointed. But for the first time in my life I greatly dislike Ginny Potter.

Without questioning my question, he reaches into his bag and pulls out my beloved jar and a yellow bottle. He hands them to me as he reaches once more into the bag and pulls out a clear bag of salami. Sighing happily, I pop open the jar of pickles, wrap it in salami and pour mustard right into it. The cravings had started right about the same time as our relationship. Taking a bite of my concoction, I gesture for him to start.

"Ten galleons, it's a boy," James puts in, pulling the money from his pockets. "What?" He says when he sees my face. "Why not make some money on it?"

"Busy semester, mum," I say, avoiding all of the Potter's faces. I can feel them burning a whole in my forehead. "You ready?" She nods, saying good-bye to everyone and wraps an arm around my shoulders.

"Mum, I need to find her," He says, turning to look at the woman who had birthed him seventeen years ago. "Do you know what happened?"

He is so tiny, that it amazes me that his little body is fighting to survive and winning. In the three days since he had been born, I have noticed the slow progress already happening. His skin is covered in hair that helps protect him.
