”I knew you’d get it! Let me see…” He beckoned her towards him.

"I would rather trust Snape to send Potter a Valentine, honestly, the Gryffindorks will not win," declared Pansy firmly.

Merlin, Draco, she's nothing special, it's only Pansy...

“The members of this squad would of course also be able to take points from other Prefects, as they would have higher status.” She looked content as she said this, knowing full well that Draco would accept anything with this offer.

“Yeah, night, Nott.” Pansy sounded like she was hiding laughter, and he could imagine her smiling tauntingly.

“Do you think he wants some uneducated brats hanging after him? Don’t be silly.”
Had Snape just called him a brat? Draco felt his blood running faster in his veins, his face growing hot.

Draco told himself he was not panicking, and he tried to read as much he could in his stupid History, Potions and Transfiguration books, but nothing was going in.

 

"Why are you friends with this bloke?" whispered Pansy. "He evidently can't get one whole sentence right."

Pansy did not kow whether she was in love or just horny.

He passed several students who did not even dare to look into his eyes – had people found out already? He was aware they knew about his father, but... He glanced down to check that his left sleeve had not slid up, and was still hiding his skin.

Dumbledore was the greatest wizard to ever wave a wand (next to the Dark Lord, of course), and had even defeated a dark wizard in his past. For some reason, this seemingly impossible task was delegated to Draco.

He had a weapon, a dangerous, probably deathly weapon, and he had a potential victim. But how in the world would he manage to give Dumbledore the necklace without subjecting himself to major suspect?

Draco was finally beginning to understand why he had been given this mission.
