James has always loved Lily for as long as he's known her. Lily just considers him a friend that gets on her nerves more than once a day that she has to constantly keep telling off for causing trouble. But after helping Lily with Transfiguration homework one night, she gives James a light and friendly kiss. She had never done that before, he had always kissed her, which resulted in a sore cheek from her slapping him across the face. It's kind of a half songfic/half regular romance story.
