Or, they met because he was the resident-in-charge of her post-grad course and she was scared of the air he carried around him. They met and fell in love. They met and it didn't work out.

Before the fire, Odette had a goal. Before being the Maître Ballet in Paris, Louis Mérante had a life. They dreamed and then they met. The story before each became everything to the other.

"Why do you dance?" That question was easy to answer. It was the only thing that gave her life purpose. It was the only thing that made her life worth living. "What should I live for, if I cannot dance?" That question was harder. She still had no answer.

Le ballet était fini, mais pour Félicie, la vie et ses rêves venaient à peine de commencer.

Odette got everything she wanted. Félicie, Mérante and an unexpected miracle baby. While everything is perfect, we all know that doesn't last long, as unexpected turn of events happen,they learn to gain, loose and reunite with friends and families, as well as memories to never forget, whether they are good or sad, they face it together... as Family.. Of course he had recognized her when he first caught a glimpse of her cleaning the salons at the Palais Garnier; there was no way he would not have. He had heard of her, of course, and seen her dance several times before the fire. That had been before his time as Maître de Danse, and he did not know much more than that about her.

She would have been the most celebrated Ballerina of their generation, had the opportunity not been stolen from her. Of that he was certain. And that had he not been such a coward, life could have been easier for her as well. Unfortunately, one cannot go backward - only forward.

After Félicie's debut in the Nutcracker, Odette begins her journey of falling in love with dance again. She, with Mérante to guide her, relearns the pas de deux the two were supposed to perform in their debut as prima ballerina and ballet master - a debut stolen by the fire - all the while rebuilding a long neglected relationship...
