"Have you no fear? Have you no guilt? How can you feel nothing?! Nothing! Not even a speck of remorse for your brother?! You killed him in cold-blood!" She screamed at him, her raven curls bouncing everywhere. He flinched but did not utter a word. His face that of a mask. His gold orbs appeared cold and calculating. She searched the cold abyss in his eyes for something, anything. Exasperated, she sat back in the hard wooden chair, knowing that she could not get anything out of him.

He leaned forward. "Ma'am? Do you known what it's like to have a brother that over-shadows you in everything? And when you finally..." He cackled and picked up where he left off, "When you finally get something right, it's snatched away, just like that!" He motioned like he was snatching something quickly. "DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE FOR SOMETHING YOU LOVE TO DISAPPEAR?! TO BE STOLEN! THE ONE THING THAT I COULD CARE ABOUT! GONE!" During his 'speech', he had risen up and was shouting in the poor woman's face. He took a step back into the shadows of the dusty, gray room.

"I do." She whispered. He glared at her. "What you don't believe me? I understand the feeling of being bested! I understand that it's hard to accept. I UNDERSTAND what it's like to have to the thing you love the most taken away from you, by the person you've been running your whole life from. I understand what it's like to be neglected. I understand..." She looked up into his eyes and tried to gather the strength to go on. "But that doesn't mean that you had to murder him!"

"What do you suggest I should have done? Stand there and watch as he took yet another thing away from me? NO! Kikyo is where I put my foot down!" He started growing louder.

"What I suggest you should have done is that you pick up and move on. BE THE BIGGER PERSON! Leave! There is a soul-mate for everyone! You just haven't found her yet! And better yet, if she left you like she did, then she wasn't totally in love with you to begin with!" Kagome stood up and pushed Inuyasha down into the wooden chair.

Sitting there, looking dumb-founded, Inuyasha contemplated her words. He felt slim arms wrap around his neck and tears slowly make their way down his face. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. "What can I do? What can I do to make our pain go away?" She cried, burying herself in the hollow of his neck.

"All we can do is move on. Move on..." He whispered. "That is all we can do."

Hello! This is my first fanfic, so please rate, review, and critique! I am open to all suggestions! I don't know whether to continue this, or leave it as it is. I also do not own InuYasha!

Thank you!
