She was stuck in between the layers of the atmosphere, flying just above one, dipping her hand through the ghost-like, milky substance of the clouds. Raising her head to see the setting sun, bright in its intensity, as if it was trying to warn her of flying to high, like Icarus, she spread her tawny wings, slowly flapping and soaring on her back. In the distance, the clouds looked like mountains. She could hear the rumble of approaching planes and stared as the sound slowly drifted away. The girl stared into the blue abyss known as the sky, feeling as if she was finally alone. A piece of mind was being presented to her, as she slowly drifted down. She could do anything. The sky was a stage for her to fill with giggles and cartwheels.

Flying higher to gain altitude, she was surrounded by dark gray forests of clouds, acting as walls for her to scale. Soaring higher, she glanced over to see transparent whales swimming out of the sea of gray, rising higher to greet her. She laughed as she watched the animals dive in and out of the mist. She hovered over the clouds playing with the mammals.

As the sun exited the great stage, the stars of dusk lazily shone on the wonderland, giving an almost ice rink effect. She skated among the magnificent landscapes. Making figure eights and astounding jumps, she had the feeling she was finally alive. Breathing in the air that held a slight chill, she slowly closed her eyes to memorize the scene before her. Suddenly, she began to fall. Clawing at air, she rapidly was hurtled towards earth….

"Lucy, wake up! Wake up! We've landed!" Startled, the groggy girl slowly opened her eyes, staring at the red and silver blob that spoke. Glancing out her window, she noticed the blinking lights of the airport against the black curtain of the night.

"Okay. Okay. I'm awake…partially." Lucy replied, feeling her way around to get up. Mentally preparing herself for the crowds of people that were about to surround her, Lucy wished that she could revisit the wondrous land she had just left.

Dreams are whatever we create them to be.

Ello! I do not own Lucy or any other fabulous characters from Fairy Tail! Though...I really wish I did.
