OCTOBER 5. MONDAY.
MUSIC ROOM AT BOSTON COLLEGE; 8:53 A.M.
The two voices seemed to overlap and create something more beautiful than anything that either Tripp nor Lyla could make on their own. As the duo finished the last chords, he looked over at the amazing lady beside him. They had been practicing for the last two hours and their time in the small practice room was coming to a close.
"That was pretty fantastic Ms. Even," Tripp winked at the girl whose slender fingers held the acoustic guitar with ease.
"You didn't do to bad yourself, Mr. Odd," Lyla started to pack up her guitar into the leather case. Tripp didn't really listen to her as she droned on about how her science professor was so much harder than the ones back in high school. Instead he was being washed with nervousness. He didn't know how he was going to do this. "Well, Tripp I better get back to my dorm."
Tripp quietly played with the musical instrument still in his hand, not meeting her light blue eyes. "What's wrong Tripp?" Lyla asked sitting back down opposite to the fidgety man.
"Lyla, 8 years ago we started playing guitar together and I was wondering..." he trailed off, not able to even meet her gaze. The silence was awkward, but Tripp couldn't figure out what to say, until Lula broke the quiet.
"Bawk, bawk. Whatever it is just ask. Do you need to borrow my car, again? Don't be a chicken, just say it," Lyla playfully nudged her boyfriend of a few years. Not a dream in her mind could prepare her for what he was going to say.
"I'm an aardvark, remember?" Tripp's eyes shined, and looking at her, he once again lost all shyness. Slyly he pulled a small, black, velvety cube from the guitar container that held his precious pick. Bending down on one knee, Tripp Broody opened the case and spoke softly. "Would you Lyla Mark be my Mrs. Odd?"
Lyla's jaw dropped with pure shock, than joy spread over her face. It took her a breathless moment to answer, just as quietly, "yes."
Those two knew at that moment, that whatever might come, their souls would thrum together forever, at the same frequency.
A/N: This is my first fan-fic story, so reviews would be very so appreciated. Thanks for reading!
