On Hold:
Mac was on the phone- actually she was on hold. The clock on the wall chimed, marking her hour of trying to get through to the cable company. She wasn't one to sit in front of the television, but it was nice to have the option.
Her doorbell rang- Mac sighed as she pushed herself out from the chair she's been sitting in for the last half an hour. This had better be good, she thought as she pulled the door open.
"Harm!" She said surprised.
"Well, who'd you expect?" He grinned back.
"The cable man maybe." She replied. The hold music stopped and a woman came back on the line. "Yes!" Mac spun around to grab the papers she needed, "Yes, I'm still here- but- wait- can't you-" She sighed and turned back to Harm. "I'm back on hold," she said.
Harm chuckled.
"You think this is funny, flyboy?!" Mac smiled.
"Only a little." He said, taking her waist in his hands and pulling her towards him. "How long have you been on the phone?"
"About an hour."
Harm leaned down and kissed her. Mac's mind clouded but after a moment she shook herself and playfully pushed him back.
"Uh-uh," she said smiling, "I know what's gonna happen, you're going to get me all distracted and they'll end up cutting me off and my cable is never going to get fixed."
Grinning Harm leaned up against the wall and turned Mac so that her back was against his chest.
"Why are you still on the phone?"
"Because I don't give up easily."
"Mmm, neither do I." He said planting kisses down her neck and squeezing her sides gently- making her squirm.
"Harm…" Mac tried to make it sound like a protest, but she was cut off as he moved his hand to her thigh and began to crumple her skirt up in his hands. She started breathing hard as he started to move his hips behind her.
"Why are you still on the phone?" He asked again murmuring the question in her ear.
"I don't know…" Mac sighed. She was just about to drop it to the ground when the hold music stopped and a woman's voice came over the receiver.
"Ma'am? Are you still there." Mac brought it up to her ear quickly and stepped away from Harm.
"Yes, I'm still here."
"We'll send out a repair man Tuesday between 1 and 4 pm."
"You've got to be kidding me." Mac said, clearly frustrated.
"No, Mam. That's the best we can do."
"Fine. I'll have someone here to meet him."
She turned off the phone and threw it onto the couch and turned to Harm.
"Uhhh! People make me so mad!"
Harm was sympathetic for a moment, but he then smiled at the thought of how she would be working off that frustration.
"Still think this is funny?" She asked.
Harm's smile widened and he leaned in to kiss her. "Wanna have some fun?"
